Sounds crazy right? The latest in coffee trends is to drink coffee with butter, you may be skeptical, but I have found some pretty interesting info on the matter. Let me share with you what I’ve found, and then you can decide for yourself.
Fist, let me supply you with the coffee with butter recipe:
- Boil 1 cup of filtered water
- Use the boiled water to brew a strong black cup of coffee using 2 1/2 tbsp of freshly ground coffee beans
- Add 1 tsp Mct 100% Oil
- Add 1 tbsp grass-fed unsalted butter of ghee
- Mix all ingredients in a blender for at least 20 seconds, until no oil is sitting on the surface.
This recipe will give you the typical boost you get from your coffee, without the crash that sometimes follows. The MCT oi in the coffee boosts energy and promotes weight loss.
Dave Asprey creator Bulletproof Coffee states that “When you blend low-toxin coffee with butter and octane oil (MCT oil), the butter turns off some of your food cravings and provides things the brain needs, including micronutrients.” Here is his full article written for Fox News, also full of awesome things.
Definitely an acquired taste, you will have to judge for yourself, and let me know how you feel a couple hours after you enjoy your regular morning cup of joe. It all sounds pretty beneficial if you ask me, why not get the coffee you love along with the weight loss and energy boost benefits? Sounds like a win-win to me.
For the skeptics out there, check out Bulletproof Coffee’s site for all the info, recipes, special coffee beans and of course, Bulletproof Coffee drinkers thoughts on the topic.
And, like I mentioned before, I would love to hear from those of you that have tried coffee with butter. The positives, the negatives, let me hear it all!
