Have you heard that drinking coffee right before you plan on taking a power nap can improve your alertness when you wake up? They are calling it the coffee power nap.
It’s all very true, and worth trying.
I won’t get all scientific on you, but in Layman’s terms, the coffee you drink typically increases your alertness within 30 minutes of consumption. If you plan on napping for about 20 minutes after drinking said coffee, when you wake up the goodness of the caffeine will just be hitting your system. Therefore, we call it a Coffee Power Nap.
Studies have been done to aid on the verification of these statements. There is a warning to not overdo your caffiene intake before taking a nap, this isn’t one of those “more is better” deals. Have a cup and then take a little siesta – wake up refreshed.
Give it a shot and let me know how it goes. Typically when I want to take a nap, I don’t feel like delaying it to drink a cup of coffee. However, after finding this interesting piece of information, I might have to give it a try.
